DIY Scratch Art

My kids love scratch art, but it never seems to last very long. So I did some research to see if we could make our own instead of spending countless amounts of money on the scratch art pages. I found a few different ways to make it but this one seems like its the best one.

What you will need:

  • White paper
  • Crayons
  • Black Paint
  • Dish Soap
  • Paint Brush
Have your children color COMPLETLEY over the entire page. Make sure they press down pretty hard to cover the page with the wax from the crayons

Bright colors are best so when they are seen next to the black the colors pop

Then mix your paint with a little dish soap (not too much soap or the black will be flakey) using your paint brush.

Then you just let it dry. You can use toothpicks, chopsticks, or we are going to use cotton swabs with the tip cut off.

We made several sheets so if one of the kids finishes a project early they can get one out and scratch away! They is also a cool project coming up where we use some of these sheets! So keep checking back!!!
