Chalk Paint

I've been wanting to try this one for a while now but could never get the right mixture, but today I found it! Here's what you'll need:

  • Cornstarch
  • Water
  • Food Coloring
  • Containers

You put equal parts cornstarch and water into some containers. I used an old gummy worm bowl, a fruit cup bowl and an old glass. I was just trying it out today so I put 2 Tablespoons cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of water into each container (Didn't want to use too much because we had a basketball game to go to and didn't want to fight with the kids to stop painting). I let each kid pick a color. Sissy picked Green, Little Princess picked pink (turned out purple), and Little Man had blue (turned out green). The kids wanted to help add the colors, they squeezed a little too hard which is why the colors didn't turn out right. But they enjoyed helping to make it.

The mixture was hard to stir at first, it kept clumping but once I got the clumps out it was fine. Then I added the food coloring.

Then it was time to test it!! We had an issue with Little Man trying to eat it and then sitting in it :( But after I got him out of his good clothes we didn't have any other problems (The paint came out of his clothes so its ok to get some on you). Even the neighbor girls came over to paint!

Everyone loved and we will definitely be doing it again soon! Next time I will make a lot more colors!
